History
Our history in Regnum Christi and as consecrated lay people began in 1972.
On January 25, 1972, two young men from the Madrid section of Regnum Christi were incorporated into the third degree for men at the end of a short course. This was the first consecration of men in the Regnum Christi from which the group of consecrated laity was formed and which has survived to the present day: first as a third degree secular, then as a Private Association of the Faithful and today as a Society of Apostolic Life.
The availability and generosity of those young men bore fruit historically in the establishment of the male consecrated lay life in Regnum Christi, thus allowing other members of Regnum Christi to find and live the consecrated lay vocation.

First incorporations
First incorporations into the then third degree of Regnum Christi, with the consecration of two young men in Madrid. In July, the consecrations of three others followed, and in December, another five.
January 1, 1976
First training center (Madrid)
Founding of the first center for consecrated laity of Regnum Christi in Madrid.
July 1, 1974
International Cursillo
International Cursillo of Regnum Christi youth in Reajo del Roble (Madrid). Spanish and Mexican youth coexist. It is fundamental for the expansion of the lay consecration of Regnum Christi in Mexico.
October 1, 1974
First Year of Formation
Beginning of the first Year of Formation (1974-1975) for members of the third degree for men in Madrid.
April 13, 1974
Incorporation into the third degree secular
Incorporación al entonces tercer grado seglar de los primeros ocho mexicanos (Ciudad de México). Entre ellos, los dos futuros directores generales del Regnum Christi Álvaro Corcuera y Eduardo Robles Gil.
May 31, 1975
Center for Lay Consecrated Men (Mexico)
Founding of the Regnum Christi center for consecrated laity in Mexico City.
January 1, 1978
Center for Lay Consecrated Men (Dublin)
Foundation of the center for consecrated laity of Regnum Christi in Dublin. Since 1976 there have been incorporations to the third degree of Irish seculars.
January 26, 1979
First visit of Pope John Paul II
The Legion of Christ and the Regnum Christi Movement are actively collaborating in the first visit of Pope John Paul II to Mexico, in particular the members of the third degree male laity.
October 1, 1979
Training center (Mexico)
Inauguration in Mexico City of a formation center for the third degree for male lay people.
